Founded in 1848, Mt. Pleasant is located about 12 miles from the city of Concord, in the eastern portion of Cabarrus County, on Hwy 73 and Mount Pleasant Road. The estimated population is around 2,000 people and was originally settled by Germans who migrated from Pennsylvania. Mt. Pleasant is home to the Eastern Cabarrus Historic Museum, which provides a look into Cabarrus County's history from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s. Mt. Pleasant also offers its residents a community park and local library. Mt. Pleasant's real estate market has many multi-family units, single family homes in both established and new neighborhoods and subdivisions, along with many homes on acres of land.
